The Rangel Program is a joint program between Howard University and the U.S. State Department that prepares both undergraduate and graduate students for diplomatic careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. State Department. Each academic year there are 30 selected Rangel Fellows and awarded support through their two years of graduate school through financial assistance, internship and development activities, and entry into the Foreign Service upon graduation. Fellows up successfully complete the program and Foreign Service entry requirements will receive appointments as Foreign Service Officers.
The Rangel Graduate Fellows are awarded up to $47,500 and their Josef Korbel application fee of $65 is waived.
